The Denver Gold Group has been a long-time supporter and sponsor of the Colorado School of Mines (CSM) and the Colorado Mining Association Education Foundation’s (CMAEF) annual summer program for K-12 teachers.Established in 1968, the course is designed to address a deficiency among educators about the importance of metals and mining to stable and prosperous societies. A Total Concept of the Mining Industry is CSM’s flagship course in its Teacher Enhancement Program, which offers a wide range of nationally-recognized earth-science curriculum packages that comprise a part of the professional development opportunities for educators offered at the school.
The intensive, high quality program provides teachers with 6 hours of recertification credits. Since 1968 over 1,500 teachers have passed through the program.
DGG will provide up to 5 scholarships a year for qualifying teachers who complete the program.
